The Beginning

Backbone began as a solo freelancing venture by Vineeth Ayyappan during the e-commerce surge, growing into a small, focused team with the first hires joining in 2021 to support growing brand needs.

First Office & Early Wins

We moved into our first Bangalore office and built a dedicated e-commerce team, securing five initial clients and establishing the foundation for structured marketplace operations.

2024

Team & Expertise Growth

Backbone expanded into a 15-member team serving 15+ brands, strengthening our expertise in e-commerce operations and delivering stable, high-quality support across marketplaces.

2025

Major Expansion & New Agency

Grew to 25 professionals, shifted to a larger office, and launched The Brand People, offering end-to-end creative and social media solutions to complement our e-commerce services.
